Borrowing from
a bank should always begin with the bank where your business accounts
are located. If you don’t feel comfortable with visiting your own
bank first, then maybe it is time to switch banks anyway. Here are a few
other contacts for your small business needs that want to talk to you.
Always check to see if the final decision to lend to you is done locally
or elsewhere; local is better.

Small Business Association loans were created to fill a gap left when
conventional lending sources where skeptical toward start-up businesses
or risky businesses. There isn’t a business that is not without
risk however, so SBA loans are still with us. SBA loan packages can be
structured like any other loan however, a “preferred” SBA
lender such as Borrego Springs Bank has the authority to approve your
government guaranteed loan.
The way this program works
is your SBA lender will use your business banking partner, or another
bank, in conjunction with federal matching funds and a guarantee to your
private lender that SBA will stand behind your business. As with other
lending sources SBA funding is available for inventory/working capital
financing, equipment purchases, debt refinancing, business acquisition
or expansion, construction financing and commercial real estate purchases.
James Even, assistant
vice president is the person to talk to at 520-745-5229 or jeven@b-s-b-net
. Mr. Even is not your typical banker; he will come to your place of business
to talk to you about a loan.
